Early Chopper. Dean McNulty playing an elderly-looking Precision bass, Furgis Allen on drums, and Stevo in Les Paul mode. Chopper as a power-pop band with the emphasis on power.
Why does this man have such a wide shit-eating grin on his face? Is the fact that he just crunched the band Limo over a curb have anything to do with it? Dean & his roommate Eddie the Painter purchased the used limo for band business and street-sign stealing.
Ah, the Rickenbacker influence is creeping in. Steve still clutches his Les Paul in this publicity shot, but new arrival Rob Dietrich sports a fine-looking Rick, as does Dean. Larry Walter has taken over on drums.
This is Steve teaching the opening riff to Day Tripper to bassist Michael Quercio (The Three O'Clock and Permanent Green Light) for the Tater Totz gig at Beatlefest '91 in Los Angeles.
Tater Totz group photo - same gig as above. Hi Wendy!
Later days, getting acoustic. Nick Appleby is in on bass, and Steve is wielding a Gibson acoustic. Rob has switched to a twelvestring Rickenbacker, and Larry is somewhere back there. This photo taken at Brass City Records in Waterbury.
Barcelona, 1992. Steve the tourist in idiotic Lennon getup sets his sights on a very hip Vespa scoota.
Chopper at Bar in New Haven - Steve on acoustic, Rob on Rick 12-string, Nick on Fender Mustang bass and Larry on drums.
